Ingredients

1 cup strong brewed espresso or coffee, cooled

1/4 cup coffee liqueur (like Kahlúa)

1 cup mascarpone cheese

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cocoa powder (plus extra for dusting)

1/2 cup crushed ladyfingers (approx. 6-8 pieces)

1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

Pinch of salt

1/2 cup chocolate sprinkles or grated chocolate (for coating)

Instructions

Infuse the Flavor: In a mixing bowl, combine the cooled espresso and coffee liqueur, allowing the mixture to meld for about 5-10 minutes. This will intensify the coffee flavor in your truffles.

Make the Filling: In a separate large bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, continuing to whip until stiff peaks form.

Combine with Mascarpone: In another mixing bowl, gently fold together the mascarpone cheese and the coffee mixture until smooth. Then, gradually fold in the whipped cream until fully incorporated, being careful not to deflate the mixture.

Add Texture: Fold in the crushed ladyfingers to add some crunch and classic tiramisu texture to your truffle mixture. Make sure it's evenly distributed.

Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for about 1 hour or until the mixture is firm enough to handle.

Form the Truffles: Once chilled, use a small cookie scoop or your hands to form small balls (about 1 inch in diameter) from the mixture. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.

Coat the Truffles: Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, allowing the excess to drip off before rolling the truffle in chocolate sprinkles or grated chocolate until fully coated. Return the coated truffles to the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Final Chill: Place the coated truffles back in the refrigerator for another 30 minutes to set.

Serve: Once set, dust the truffles lightly with cocoa powder for a classic touch. Enjoy your Tiramisu Truffles chilled or at room temperature!
