Ingredients

1 cup orzo pasta

2 tablespoons olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup vegetable broth

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Cook the Orzo: In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the orzo according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Sauté Garlic: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.

Make the Sauce: Pour in the vegetable broth and bring it to a simmer. Stir in the heavy cream, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Let it cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.

Incorporate the Cheese: Lower the heat and add the grated Parmesan cheese to the sauce, whisking until it melts and combines smoothly.

Combine Orzo and Sauce: Add the drained orzo to the skillet, stirring well to coat the pasta in the creamy sauce. Continue to cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the orzo to absorb some of the flavors.

Serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side for an extra zesty kick.
