Ingredients

2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1/3 cup brown sugar, packed

1/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Sugar Mixture: In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

Roll Out the Dough: Unroll one can of crescent roll dough and lay it flat on a clean surface. Pinch the seams together to seal the triangles into a single sheet of dough.

Brush with Butter: Use a pastry brush to generously spread half of the melted butter over the dough sheet.

Sprinkle Cinnamon Sugar: Evenly sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture over the buttered dough. If using nuts, sprinkle them over the cinnamon sugar as well.

Create Twists: Starting from one end, cut the dough sheet into 12 strips (lengthwise). Each strip should be about 1 inch wide. Twist each strip several times and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Repeat with Second Dough Roll: Repeat steps 3 to 6 with the second can of crescent dough.

Final Brush with Butter: Once all twists are on the baking sheet, brush them with the remaining melted butter. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture over the top.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.

Cool and Serve: Allow the twists to cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 24 twists
