8 oz fettuccine or spaghetti pasta

1 lb ground beef

4 tbsp unsalted butter

5 cloves garlic, minced

1 medium onion, finely chopped

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1/2 cup beef broth

1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine or spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

    Prepare the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

      Cook the Ground Beef: Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet. Season with salt and pepper. Use a spatula to break it up, cooking until browned and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

        Add Garlic and Tomatoes: Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Then add the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for another 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften.

          Create the Sauce: Pour in the beef broth and add red pepper flakes if desired. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to reduce slightly.

            Combine with Pasta: Stir in the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, allowing it to melt into the sauce. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together. If the mixture seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water until the desired consistency is reached.

              Finish Up: Remove from heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper, if needed.
